Zebrazoo Consulting delivers ‘Pragmatic Project Management’ session to 100 business professionals at CIMA conference
On Thursday 16 May 2013 Sean Mullineux, lead consultant at Zebrazoo Consulting delivered a professional development session on ‘Pragmatic Project Management’ to 100 CIMA registered business professionals at an event held in Nottingham
CIMA Events Chairman Jean Lowes said of the session: “Sean spoke very well and his pragmatic approach to project management struck a chord with the audience. I rated the presentation very highly.”
Sean Mullineux said: “I have been delivering large projects and change programmes for over 10 years and during this time I have worked with a number of people who have been called ‘project managers’ and who have had some form of PM qualification to back up their title. What I have found fascinating is how many of these PM’s have either failed to deliver their projects on time or at all, or have totally blown the project budget.
When I have analysed why this has happened the common theme is that they seem to rely totally on the ‘theory’ and don’t seem to be able to apply a pragmatic and multi-disciplinary approach to project delivery. I hope that what the delegates were able to take away from this CIMA session is that good communication, building relationships and adopting a pragmatic approach to project management will deliver far better end results than sitting behind a desk and churning out PRINCE 2 documentation.”
